I have to start this write up with WOW!!! And Congratulations!!!
Thank you so much to all the members for attending the inaugural 2021 WA Friesian Warmblood Horse of the Year and State Championships. Boy, didn’t I do the right thing securing grounds with an undercover arena (even if it was a bit flooded in spots)? The weather was not our friend for the week leading up to the event and the beautiful grass arena I had planned for us was a slippery clay pit come show day, and the rain was not done with us even on show day. After having to set the show back from April due to Covid lock downs and clashing events, we were able to run our amazing show in October; and what a show it was? We had the highest number of Friesian Warmbloods we have ever had at this event, also making it the highest overall turnout, and the level of competition was the toughest I have seen in a while!
We had some great results across our Friesian and Friesian Warmblood ring, as well as in the Baroque and Unique Breed ring. The main results were:
Best Presented State Champion Lokenzo Park Royal Knight & Katie Humphreys
Runner Up Alice Park Silent Knight & Kristie Morrone

We were so incredibly fortunate to have three incredible judges with us, the Friesian Warmblood judge was Lois Johnston and the Dressage judge was Gail Simms. Our photographer was the one-and-only Vicki Tapper from VickiPhotos (who’s photos have been used for this write up). I would also love to take a moment to appreciate the incredible sponsors from this event; because of them we had so many amazing rugs, rosettes, trophies, sashes, vouchers and other prizes to hand out across the day. Our sponsors video can be found at the following link: https://youtu.be/RBfqHhFX8Xk. I have definitely set a new bar this year for the event and am already working on how to make the 2022 event even more incredible so stay tuned!
